折角だからカウントダウン

いつの間にやらあと１年と化した「北京五輪」
地元の盛り上がりは半端でない。

が、正直、あのグレーの空と、我の強い国民性は、こういった国際大会にアンマッチなのでは？といった感覚が拭い切れない....。


「BEIJING (AFP) - China's one-year Olympic party got into full swing on Wednesday with mass rallies ahead of a song-and-dance extravaganza for 10,000 people in the heart of Beijing, as blue skies emerged just in time.

But pollution concerns in the Chinese capital and a relentless barrage of criticism from home and abroad over the communist rulers' human rights policies continued to take some shine off the celebrations.

A gathering of more than a million Chinese for dawn exercises in parks throughout Beijing launched the countdown to what is widely expected to be one of the best-prepared Games ever.

A series of test events, including hockey and rowing, also got under way on Wednesday at the venues that will hold those competitions.

Wednesday's highlight will come when 10,000 invited guests, including national leaders, celebrities and Olympic chiefs, gather on Tiananmen Square in the heart of the capital to celebrate the one-year countdown.

Fireworks will explode as revellers watch the countdown clock tick to 8:08 pm (1208 GMT) -- exactly one year out from the 2008 Games.」

北京五輪聖火ルート発表、台湾は受け入れ拒否

北京五輪開幕まで、一年ちょっととなった。
何であれ、記録を残したいと思った。
ずぼらな性格故、ニュースページのHTMLを、そのままコピーすることも考えた。
ただ、ニュースに関して、著作権侵害ってことになるのか？....よく分からなかった。
とりあえず、出典を明確にして、記事を引用することで、お茶を濁そうと思う。

「北京五輪組織委員会は ２６日夜、０８年の同五輪聖火リレーの経路とトーチのデザインを発表した。聖火は３月２５日にギリシャで採火され、３月３１日までにいったん北京に運ばれ た後、中央アジア、欧州、北南米、アフリカ大陸、東南アジア、日本の長野、ソウル、平壌などを経由して台北、香港、マカオから中国大陸入りする計画だが、 台湾当局は「台湾をわい小化している」として受け入れ拒否を表明した。

　　なお、聖火は３月３１日に北京で分火され、５月にチョモランマ（エベレスト）登頂にも挑む。聖火が世界最高峰を目指すのは五輪史上初の試みだ。
